How do I stop snoring?

I've been a heavy snorer for as long as I can remember and within the past year my fiance and I have moved into together and the snoring has left us completely distraught and we're not sure what to do to stop it. We've tried the strips and every little trick we've found online and none of them have worked.
A little background history when I have twelve I had my tonsils and my adenoid removed and was snore free for a while.

Thank you for your time in advanced we are at our wits end.
Thank you all very much and to Sunny thank you as well I did a little delving into sleep apnea and after talking with my fiance and from past experiences I do have the stopping of breathing and the always being that comes with sleep apnea. I schedule a sleep study as soon as possible. Once again thank you.

I take it that you've tried Breath Rite strips and those throat sprays. My husband says that since I went onto the C-pap, my snoring has decreased dramatically. You may suffer from sleep apnea and after testing you are found to have apnea, your doctor can prescribe a C-pap after you complete a sleep study. There is a surgery that will also help, but I don't know the details. Sinus problems can interfere with your breathing. Try dripping some salt water into your nostrils with your head tilted over the side of your bed. The salt water will penetrate the sinuses and open them up or put a vaporizer or humidifier in your room; but again, you have probably tried that.

Since you said you have tried every little trick, go to your doctor who will refer you to a specialist.

They have nasal strips or sprays, also pills which can easily stop snoring.

Lying on your back will mean more snoring. Sleep on your side or with the upper body slightly elevated.

There are also several mouth exercises which can be done, similar to singing exercises, to reduce snoring.

Wearing a mouth guard to sleep may also stop snoring because it helps with air flow.
