Hi I have a 2001 nissan alemra 1800 sport plus the engine light came on and we had it checked which showed lambo sensor fitted new one and done a contonuity check from lambo to ecm. All was fine but the engine light is back on and showing lambo again.
It's Lambda sensor. First try clearing any error codes. Find the diagnostic connector under the drivers side dash by your right knee.Switch the ignition on. Bridge the terminals marked IGN and CHK. Wait 2 seconds then remove the bridging wire. Check that the engine light flashes. Now bridge the terminals again, wait 2 seconds then remove the bridge and turn the ignition off. Any codes in memory should now be erased.
If the light returns you'll have to investigate further.
If you are sure the wiring is ok and not damaged you can rule that out. Did you fit a genuine sensor or a cheap aftermarket or universal sensor? Ime these cheap ones are useless and usually don't work at all or fail 3 months down the road.
If you fitted a genuine one you need to get an oscilloscope on the signal wire to see what the trace looks like. Most people don't have the equipment for this so it's a job for an auto electrician.
